The City of Mission adopted the Mission Safe Streets Plan by a unanimous vote of the Mission Governing Body on February 18, 2026, as part of its commitment to eliminating traffic fatalities and severe injuries for road users. Using funding from the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Safe Streets and Roads for All program, the Mission Safe Streets plan identifies where crashes occur, prioritizes improvements to reduce crashes, and enhance Mission streets to ensure all people feel safe when walking, biking, riding, rolling, or driving.

Next Steps:

Building on the insights from the City’s Safety Action Plan, there is an opportunity to secure additional funding to implement targeted countermeasures at high-priority intersections and roadway segments. These improvements may include intersection safety upgrades, traffic calming measures, and other solutions highlighted in the Safe Systems Toolbox.

Community Involvement:

Feedback was utilized by the City of Mission and project team to help shape the Safety Action Plan. This included a survey, interactive map, open house, and various pop-up events. While the Interactive Mapping Activity is now closed, you can still explore the results below to see where community members voiced their concerns and ideas about roadway safety throughout the City.
